Royal Swazi Spa Country Club
Golf The spectacular 18-hole Championship course at the Royal Swazi Spa Country Club is one of the scenic to be found anywhere in the world, with a different mountain scenery to be enjoyed from every tee and green. At only 6 166 metres (5258 metres for women) in length, the par 72 layout used to be regarded as a soft touch by pros and amateurs alike. Over the past five years, extensive alterations have been made to the golf course, resulting in a substantially tougher layout whilst adding to the natural beauty of the course. The par 72 course is laid out on the slopes of the Lubombo mountains, with the first nine comparatively level, and the back nine fully exploiting the mountainous terrain. There is a putting green located close to the Club House, for the convenience of players.
The redesigned 17th is a gem of a hole. This par five is short enough to encourage the medium-to-long hitter to go for the green in two, however this approach must carry a big pond in front of a small green with trouble on all sides. It's one of those holes that rewards a good, bold play with a birdie, but if the gamble does not pay off, punishes it with a double bogey.
Greens and fairways are in excellent condition with challenging features including lakes, gullies thick with vegetation, out-of-bounds areas running close to fairways, wickedly sited bunkers (one is so steep that railway sleeper steps have been provided) swirling breezes and clusters of huge trees and indigenous plants. Golf Pro Shop 08h00-17h00 The Pro Shop located below the Country Club specializes in golfing equipment and a range of Royal Swazi Spa golf wear.
Country Club Open Daily Snacks : 08h00-16h00 Bar : 09h00-19h00 Golfers can have their clubs conveniently stored for them at the Club House whilst not in use, there are also locker room facilities.
