# Betway Online Gambling Operator Signs Deal with South Africa Rugby and Springboks

The groundbreaking deal will essentially make Betway an associate sponsor of SA Rugby and the Springboks.
Under the terms of the partnership, Betway’s brand-name will appear on the rugby players’ shorts during their matches, on perimeter signs inside the stadium and on the field at home test matches. The brand will already be visible in the Springboks’ game against Argentina this coming weekend.

The Springboks head into the Rugby Championship clash on Saturday as the firm favourites. They beat Argentina 32-12 last weekend, playing at the same venue. Since last weekend, the Boks made 11 changes to their starting line-up and 17 to their matchday squad.
Lood de Jager will win his 50th cap in Round Two. Marvin Oriewill earn his first Test stars and Nicolaas Janse van Rensberg has been named on the replacements bench. The game kicks off at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth at 5.pm on Saturday. Karl Dickson of England will serve as referee.

## SA Rugby Excited About Partnership
Also commenting on the deal was Jurie Roux, the chief executive of SA Rugby, who expressed the authority’s excitement about partnership with Betway. He said that the deal would “stretch beyond the four white lines of a rugby field.”
“Betway have some exciting new initiatives that will be announced in due course as part of the new partnership, and we are excited to see what the future holds,” he said.
## Expanding Presence in SA Sports Industry
This is not the first time that Betway has struck a deal with a South African sports body. In February this year [Betway](https://www.southafricancasinos.co.za/visit/betway.html) signed a sponsorship agreement with the newly launched T20 Challenge Twenty20 cricket tournament.
The tournament is now known as the Betway T20 Challenge. SA Cricket launched the ten-day competition last year to replace the white-ball Mzansi Super League which was cancelled due to the coronavirus.
Betway already has a range of sponsorship deals in place in SA cricket. It acts as the official partner of all Proteas Tests and One Day International series fixtures played in South Africa. In September last year, Betway renewed its partnership with Cricket West Indies for all Home Series matches in both the men's and women's sectors until 2022.
