Grand West Jackpot Winners Strike It Over Holidays

Cape Town, January 2024 - GrandWest’s SunStriker slots machine paid out more than R3.5-million to lucky punters over the holiday period, with the highest pay-out claimed four times in less than 30 days.

SunStriker has three jackpot levels, and all four winners were playing SunStrike level one which has a minimum win of R750 000. Bet values range from R5 to R15.

Three of the lucky winners described their experience.

It was second time lucky for a Cape Town businessman who won R1.2-million – close to his previous biggest million plus win. “I am a regular punter, I choose to go to Grand West for leisure instead of spending time in a pub,” said the man, who planned to leave the money in the bank until he had time to decide what to do with it.

A Cape Town local, who frequents the casino occasionally spending only small denominations, had R27 remaining of his R100 budgeted spend when he won R912 000 on the SunStriker. “I was playing R5 bets at the time,” said the man, who plans to invest his winnings.

A woman who won R824 000 said, “This is my first big win and although I am not short, I thank god that I won the money”.
